The match left a clear contrast in its individual assessments: Ramon, Lucas Da Cunha and Tasos Douvikas emerged as the strongest performers for the home side, while the visitors faced widespread criticism that began with coach Michael Carrick.
Three home players set the standard
- Ramon was among the most convincing figures on the pitch.
- Da Cunha received similarly positive recognition for his contribution.
- Douvikas also stood out in a home performance that contained several encouraging individual displays.
Carrick and the visitors under scrutiny
The judgement on the away side was far less forgiving. There were numerous disappointing ratings across the visitors’ group, with Carrick placed at the centre of the criticism for the team’s display.
It was therefore a fixture remembered less for a single incident than for the gap between the home side’s leading players and an away team unable to meet the same standard.
