Como and Roma resume Serie A duty after the international break with a meeting at the Sinigaglia that carries early weight at the top of the table. The sixth-round fixture kicks off at 12:30, with Cesc Fabregas and Gian Piero Gasperini both forced to adjust key areas of their sides.
Fabregas keeps faith with a four-man defence in front of goalkeeper Jean Butez. Ramon and Trevoh Chalobah form the central pairing, with Ivan Fresneda Couto and Alex Valle Kaiki operating from the full-back positions.
Maximo Perrone and Lucas Da Cunha are selected in midfield, while Como place Diao, Nico Paz and Maxence Caqueret behind striker Anastasios Douvikas. Martin Baturina begins among the substitutes. Moise Kean is unavailable after suffering an injury while on international duty, leaving Douvikas to lead the home attack.
Roma reshuffle after injuries
Roma make changes of their own, beginning in goal, where Pierluigi Gollini replaces Mile Svilar after the regular starter was injured in training. Gasperini names Gianluca Mancini, Evan Ndicka and Mario Hermoso in a three-man back line.
On the flanks, Nahuel Molina and Wesley retain their places. Bryan Cristante’s injury opens a place in midfield for Marten de Roon alongside Manu Koné.
Captain Lorenzo Pellegrini returns to the starting side and will operate with Paulo Dybala in support of Donyell Malen, giving Roma experience and creativity behind their centre-forward.
