Fantacampionato: Okoye Tops Serie A Round 6 Flop XI

Serie A’s sixth round closed with Torino’s 2-1 win over Udinese, a result that left Maduka Okoye carrying the heaviest individual consequence of the weekend. The Udinese goalkeeper received a fantasy score of 2.5 after his error helped Torino to the decisive goal, matching Parma’s Corvi for the lowest total among players involved in the round.

Okoye was already penalised by the two goals conceded, but the costly mistake that handed Torino their winner brought a particularly severe assessment. For Udinese, it was an unhappy ending to a Sunday afternoon in which a single lapse changed the weight of the result.

The Serie A fantasy flop XI

The lowest-scoring side of the matchday was arranged in a 4-3-3, with disciplinary incidents heavily influencing several selections.

Position Player Fantasy score Key factor

Defender Vasquez 3 Yellow card and own goal
Defender Lucchesi 3 Sent off with a straight red card
Defender Ranieri 3.5 Booked
Defender Carboni 4.5 Booked
Midfielder Folorunsho 4 Low overall performance
Midfielder Oulai 4 Booked
Midfielder Weston McKennie 4.5 Booked
Forward Donyell Malen 3.5 Straight red card against Como
Forward Beto 4.5 Low overall performance
Forward Gnonto 4.5 Low overall performance

Dismissals define a difficult weekend

In defence, Vasquez and Lucchesi both fell to a score of 3, though for very different reasons. Vasquez was booked and scored an own goal, while Lucchesi’s afternoon ended with a direct dismissal. Ranieri, also cautioned, finished on 3.5, with Carboni receiving 4.5 after his own yellow card.

The midfield offered little relief. Folorunsho and Oulai each returned a score of 4, with Oulai’s booking adding to his penalty. McKennie was half a point higher at 4.5, but the Juventus midfielder was also shown a yellow card.

Malen’s sending-off against Como made him the most heavily marked forward in the selection. The Dutchman, more often a positive contributor, could reach only 3.5 after receiving a straight red. Beto and Gnonto completed the front three on 4.5 each.

For clubs and coaches, the sixth matchday again underlined how quickly a booking, an own goal or an error can alter the picture of a match. Torino took the points against Udinese; elsewhere, the fantasy scores reflected the individual moments that left players and teams with work to do in the next chapter of the season.
