Paris Saint-Germain made the decisive move in the fifth minute of the Matchday 4 meeting, with Ousmane Dembélé setting up Torres for a right-footed shot from outside the area that found the right side of Egil Selvik’s goal.
PSG had begun sharply. Nuno Mendes saw an effort blocked after Khvicha Kvaratskhelia created the opening, while Achraf Hakimi also had a long-range attempt stopped. The closing stages belonged to Brest in territory, if not on the scoreboard. Nonge had a shot blocked from outside the area, while Mboup forced Safonov into a save from a tight angle in the 87th minute. The goalkeeper conceded a corner from that attempt but PSG held firm.
N’Guessan sent Brest’s final effort wide in the third minute of stoppage time as the hosts tried to force one last opening. Dro Fernández was booked for a dangerous foul late on, while Vitinha also received a yellow card. After three additional minutes, PSG had protected Torres’ fifth-minute goal and Brest were left with a performance that brought pressure, a post and several near misses, but no reward.
