SC Freiburg’s football school has marked its 25th anniversary with another reminder of its central role at the club. The academy has repeatedly supplied players for professional football and remains a key part of Freiburg’s development model.
25 years of Freiburg development
The Freiburg Football School is regarded as one of Germany’s most productive youth academies. It serves as the core of SC Freiburg’s training and education structure, with the club recently recognising the institution’s quarter-century milestone.
Its recent graduates underline that record. Noah Atubolu, Johan Manzambi and Lukas Treu are among the players to have emerged from the system on the way towards senior football.
Next prospects in line
- Freiburg continue to work with younger players who are approaching the step into one of Germany’s top three divisions.
- Mladen Mijajlovic is among the current prospects being developed at the Football School.
- The academy’s task is now to turn those raw talents into the next group ready for professional football.
