Frosinone turned the Benito Stirpe into a statement of intent, beating Como 2-0 in a match that moved both clubs onto 10 points. Massimiliano Alvini’s side played with force from the opening seconds, took their chances through Giacomo Calò and Giorgi Kvernadze, and defended their lead through a series of decisive interventions.
Como arrived with the possibility of joining Inter, Roma and Lazio at the top of the Serie A table. Instead, Cesc Fabregas’ team left Frosinone frustrated by missed opportunities and by the resistance of Lorenzo Palmisani and, above all, Alessandro Monterisi.

The match began at a pace that suited the home side. Within 30 seconds, Ghedjemis broke down the right and delivered a dangerous ball which Ramon diverted close to his own goal. Kvernadze then drove forward and fired wide from the edge of the area.
Como responded quickly. Diao reached the byline and picked out Baturina, whose volley cleared the bar, before the visitors produced a remarkable sequence in the seventh minute. Palmisani denied Douvikas, Monterisi cleared Baturina’s follow-up from the line, and the defender then kept out Baturina’s close-range header by turning it onto the post.
Frosinone did not retreat after that warning. Ghedjemis shot wide and then forced Jean Butez into a save after capitalising on uncertainty in Como’s central defence. The opening goal followed in the 14th minute: Schmid drove into the penalty area, found Calò, and the midfielder’s first-time finish beat Butez with the help of a deflection off Milla.
Calò nearly added another from a free-kick four minutes later. At the other end, Diao remained Como’s most direct outlet, while Ramon made an important intervention to prevent Raimondo from meeting another Frosinone delivery.
Raimondo went close twice before the interval, first with a backheel from Kvernadze’s pass and then when Butez smothered his attempt after coming off his line. Como had their best moment shortly before the break when Nico Paz headed Diao’s cross from close range, only for Palmisani to make a fine save.
That stop carried particular weight because Frosinone struck immediately afterwards. Alvini’s side broke at speed and Kvernadze finished the move with a shot that deceived Butez, giving the hosts a two-goal cushion at half-time.
Como’s pressure meets a firm Frosinone wall
Fabregas made three changes at the restart, bringing on Jesus Rodriguez, Moise Kean and Samuele Ricci for Baturina, Da Cunha and Douvikas. The visitors pushed higher and Nico Paz and Kean both threatened early in the second half.
Alvini introduced Cittadini for Monterisi as Frosinone sought to manage Como’s growing pressure. Kean found room after getting beyond the replacement, but Monterisi was still able to make another vital block. Nico Paz then sent an effort narrowly past the post.
Frosinone retained a threat on the break. Raimondo burst through Como’s defence and drove a powerful effort just wide, while Schmid also missed the target by a small margin. The game remained open, with neither side allowing the tempo to fall.
Monterisi made another important intervention to stop Rodriguez, underlining a performance that repeatedly denied Como the goal that might have changed the afternoon. Raimondo did find the net later on, but his effort was disallowed for offside.
There were no further goals, only the home support celebrating a result that gives Frosinone parity with Como on 10 points. For Alvini, it was a win built on sharp attacking moments and collective resilience; for Fabregas, a reminder that territorial pressure and chances mean little without the finish to match them.
