Barcelona return to Champions League duty with an early chance to build on their emphatic opening-night result, but Istanbul offers Galatasaray a pressing opportunity to begin their own league-phase campaign. The sides meet at Rams Park on Tuesday night, with the hosts still seeking their first European points after defeat to Sporting Portugal.
Barcelona arrive with momentum, Galatasaray with a response to make
- Galatasaray began their Champions League league phase with a loss to Sporting Portugal, leaving the Turkish champions without a point after the first round.
- Barcelona made a far stronger European start, defeating Feyenoord 5-1 to put themselves among the early leaders.
- Following the international break, Galatasaray resumed Super Lig action by taking all three points against Kasimpasa, a domestic result that sends them into the Barcelona match with a win behind them.
- Barcelona now travel to the Bosphorus looking for a second straight Champions League victory, while Galatasaray aim to turn home advantage into their first points of the campaign.
A rare Turkish success in the head-to-head record
Galatasaray have beaten Barcelona only once in their previous meetings. That victory came in 1994, when Hakan Sükür and Arif Erdem overturned a goal from Romario. Barcelona have otherwise had the better of the fixture, recording six wins alongside three draws.
The match is scheduled for 21:00 on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, at Rams Park in Istanbul. Italian official Marco Guida will referee the league-phase encounter.
Absences shape both squads
Galatasaray will be without Aydin, Ayhan, Guner, Karatas, Unyay and Arda Yilmiz, who are not included in the available squad. Singo is also absent through injury.
Barcelona travel without Bardghji, Christensen, Frenkie de Jong and Raphinha, removing several important options from their selection for a demanding away night.
How to watch
The match will be shown on Movistar Plus+ through the basic package on channel 7, Orange Fútbol 1 on channel 107, and Movistar Liga de Campeones 2 and 4. Those channels are available on Movistar at 61 and 180, and on Orange at 117 and 119.
