Gianni Infantino Faces Questions Over Alleged Undeclared Miami Payments

In Miami Beach, where the 2026 World Cup organisers are building their American base, FIFA president Gianni Infantino has again become the subject of scrutiny over the finances surrounding football’s global governing body. The issue concerns alleged payments linked to his residence in the city, separate from the remuneration FIFA reports in Switzerland.

The news from the club

An investigation has alleged that Infantino received millions of euros in undeclared funds in addition to the salary and bonuses set out in his FIFA contract. The reported payments were said to support a high-cost lifestyle in Miami.

Since 2016, FIFA has undertaken to publish each year the pay received by its president and secretary general. Its public accounts record the official income paid by the Zurich-based federation. The allegations concern a second stream of income, reportedly paid by the company established to organise the World Cup in the United States, which did not appear in FIFA’s published financial reporting.

FIFA’s annual report for 2024 listed Infantino’s earnings at 4.274 million Swiss francs. However, a tax filing made to the United States Internal Revenue Service by FWC2026 US Inc is said to show an additional €1.6 million paid to him during that year.

Those additional sums were not made public by FIFA. More than €500,000 of the reported payment was described in the filing as “other reportable compensation” and was allegedly used for the rent of a waterfront mansion on Sunset Islands, an exclusive Miami Beach residential area known for luxury homes.
