Giovanni Simeone Inspires Torino to 3-0 Victory at Parma

Torino turned an early advantage into a complete 3-0 win at Parma on Monday night, leaving the Ennio Tardini with the points from a seventh-round Serie A meeting shaped by Giovanni Simeone’s finishing and a disciplined response to sustained home pressure.

Simeone set the course in the fourth minute. Rafik Belghali delivered from the right and the Argentine forward found the top-left corner with a left-footed effort from inside the area. Torino had begun with purpose, Ché Adams seeing an early attempt blocked and Saúl Coco heading narrowly over after the resulting corner, but Parma soon found ways to test Lucas Perri.

El Bilal Touré had a shot blocked after Emanuele Valeri’s cross, while Mandela Keita struck from range and David Romero, Giovanni Fabbian, Diego Carlos and Enrico Delprato all had first-half opportunities. Perri saved efforts by Romero, Carlos and Touré as Parma tried to recover their footing, with Adrián Bernabé repeatedly involved in deliveries from wide areas and set pieces.

Yet Torino delivered the second decisive moment after 24 minutes. Simeone’s shot from the right side of the box was blocked, but Adams reacted in front of goal and headed in from close range. The finish was checked and then confirmed by VAR, putting the visitors two ahead before the interval.

Parma made two changes at half-time, bringing on Simone Lontani for Fabbian and Dominik Drobnic for Diego Carlos. The home side continued to create openings after the restart: Touré headed just wide, Bernabé’s long-range shot was saved, and Lontani went close on more than one occasion. Troilo also headed wide and had another header stopped following Bernabé crosses.

Simeone completes Torino’s evening

Parma’s pressure did not bring the goal that might have changed the mood of the contest. Instead, Torino struck again in the 69th minute. Belghali headed the ball into Simeone’s path and the forward produced a right-footed finish from outside the penalty area, finding the top-left corner for his second of the night and Torino’s third.

Torino refreshed their side with Gvidas Gineitis and Sandro Kulenovic replacing Rolando Mandragora and Adams, before Cesare Casadei and Zakaria Aboukhlal entered for Nikola Vlasic and Belghali. Duván Zapata later replaced Simeone. Parma introduced Matija Frigan and Ousmane Diallo for Touré and Sascha Britschgi, then Christian Ordóñez came on for Bernabé.

The hosts did not stop searching for a response. Frigan forced Perri into a save, Romero had efforts blocked and sent another narrowly off target, while Lontani bent a late shot close to the top corner. Keita’s stoppage-time strike from outside the box was also held. Parma briefly thought they had reduced the deficit when Frigan found the net in the 81st minute, but the goal was ruled out after a VAR review for offside.

The game carried its share of cautions as Diego Carlos, Britschgi and Troilo were booked for Parma, while Ismajli and Comuzzo received yellow cards for Torino. Gineitis required treatment late on but was able to continue after the brief stoppage.

There was no late alteration to the result. Torino’s two-goal contribution from Simeone, alongside Adams’ confirmed first-half header, gave the visitors a controlled 3-0 victory, while Parma were left to reflect on a long series of chances that never became a route back into the match.
