Gonçalo Ramos Cleared to Target Derby as Chukwueze Faces Longer Layoff

Milan have received contrasting medical news as the season moves through a cup-week pause, with Gonçalo Ramos cleared of a muscle injury but Samuel Chukwueze facing a longer period of treatment.

Ramos targets the derby

  1. Ramos underwent scans after reporting discomfort in his left calf.
  2. The MRI found no lesion, offering relief to the Rossoneri and their Portuguese centre-forward.
  3. Amorim had already suggested in recent days that the issue was not expected to be serious.
  4. With no structural damage detected, Ramos can reasonably work towards being available for the derby on 31 October.

The outcome matters not only for the next fixture but for Milan’s wider rhythm. A derby arrives as one of those early-season dates that can reshape the atmosphere around a club, and the prospect of having Ramos in contention removes one potential concern from the coach’s preparations.

Chukwueze begins hip treatment

  1. Chukwueze was assessed by a specialist after experiencing a problem with his left hip.
  2. The winger has begun a course of injection treatment.
  3. Milan will review his condition again in between 10 and 15 days.

The club have therefore taken a more cautious route with Chukwueze. There is no immediate return date, with the next examination set to determine how he has responded to the treatment.

For Milan, the medical update brings one encouraging answer and one unresolved selection issue: Ramos may yet be part of the derby picture, while Chukwueze’s recovery will be monitored over the coming fortnight.
