Hamburg’s eight new signings arrived with varying levels of expectation, including several who joined late in the window. Their first months have offered only partial confirmation of that promise.
Zakaria El Ouahdi, Sebastiaan Bornauw and David Möller Wolfe were brought in as potential key figures for HSV this season. So far, however, the newcomers as a group have shown their quality only in spells, with the hoped-for immediate impact still uneven.
