The network has not disclosed the specifics of Brunson’s part in the long-running drama, but the booking adds another television stop for the Knicks star before the season settles in.
Brunson will also host the Sept. 26 season opener of “Saturday Night Live.” Earlier this week, he appeared during the opening segment of the Emmy Awards broadcast, which was led by “SVU” star Mariska Hargitay.
A Knicks connection on the set
Hargitay has been a familiar face around the Knicks’ biggest moments. She attended Game 4 of the NBA Finals, when New York erased a 29-point hole and edged the San Antonio Spurs 107-106.
That win helped push the Knicks toward their first NBA championship since 1973. Hargitay and Brunson shared a court-side embrace after the final buzzer, a moment that now carries over into Brunson’s upcoming “SVU” appearance.
