London City Lionesses have secured Jana Fernández for the longer term, with the 24-year-old Catalan defender signing a new deal that will keep her in the English capital until the summer of 2029.

The club confirmed the extension on Wednesday, rewarding a player who became a constant presence during London City’s first Barclays Women’s Super League season.
Fernández arrived from Barcelona in August 2025 and featured in every London City league fixture during the previous campaign. Her regular involvement has made her one of the established figures in a squad seeking to build its place in the top flight.
Speaking after the agreement was completed, Fernández said she was “delighted” to extend her stay. She explained that she had joined the club a year earlier with ambitions for what could be created there, identifying potential, enthusiasm and progress as qualities she connects with London City.
The defender added that she feels settled in England and sees a collective project taking shape between the players, coaching staff and supporters. Fernández said she is eager to continue contributing to that work over the coming seasons.
