Jaylen Waddle’s Quiet Start Raises Questions for Broncos Offense

Jaylen Waddle’s first five games have produced only 204 receiving yards, leaving the Broncos still waiting for the explosive impact they expected from the wide receiver.

Waddle has been largely held in check through the opening stretch of the season, averaging 40.8 receiving yards per game. The limited production stands out for a player brought in to give Denver a more dynamic option in the passing game and create big-play pressure on opposing defenses.

The early results have raised questions about why Waddle has not yet become a bigger part of the Broncos’ offense. Whether the issue is target volume, timing in the passing game or opponents’ coverage plans, Denver has not consistently found ways to turn his speed and route-running ability into significant yardage.

With the season moving forward, the Broncos will need to identify more opportunities for Waddle if they want their passing attack to reach the level envisioned when he joined the roster.
