João Félix Eyes Fourth Straight Portugal Win Against Haaland’s Norway

João Félix has become Portugal’s sharpest edge in the opening weeks of the Nations League, carrying a three-match scoring run into Sunday’s meeting with Erling Haaland’s Norway. The Al-Nassr forward has scored three times in three appearances as Portugal chase a fourth consecutive victory in League A.

The move

Portugal arrive in Norway after a 4-2 win in Denmark on Thursday, a result that continued the team’s free-scoring start following Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from the international set-up. The Portuguese side have struck seven goals in the competition, level with Spain as League A’s most prolific attack.

Félix is level with Lamine Yamal and Haaland at the top of the scoring chart after his early impact for the Seleção. He also opened the scoring when Portugal won 2-1 away to Norway in the first meeting between the teams, scoring in the 17th minute.

Gonçalo Ramos settled that earlier match in the 54th minute, giving Jorge Jesus a victory in only his second game in charge.

Another win on Sunday would give Portugal a perfect 12 points from four group matches. They could also secure first place immediately if Wales and Denmark draw.

The French season around it

Ramos remains a familiar name to Ligue 1 followers after his spell at Paris Saint-Germain. His decisive goal against Norway added a French-league connection to Portugal’s first victory over Haaland’s side, while Félix has taken the leading role in the current international run.
