Kerim Alajbegovic Emerges as Juventus’ Teenage Star for the Future

Kerim Alajbegovic’s first months in Turin have the air of an early turning point rather than a finished arrival. Still only a teenager, the Bosnia international has already made several decisions that have shaped his route through the game, and Juventus now see him as part of the club’s next cycle.

The coach and the club

Luciano Spalletti has become an important figure in Alajbegovic’s adaptation. The coach’s experience of working with elite players helped persuade the young forward that Juventus was the right environment for his development, while the player has responded by keeping his focus firmly on training and match preparation.

At Continassa, early absences and setbacks within the squad created an opening. Alajbegovic has taken it, with his displays steadily improving and his decision-making near goal beginning to stand out. Spalletti is guiding his progress, and Juventus increasingly regard him as a player who may become difficult to leave out.

His private routine has been deliberately quiet. Alajbegovic has built a restrained life in Turin, centred on football, family and friends, with only the occasional dinner in the city centre. The approach recalls the path followed by Kenan Yildiz, another young player who made important choices early and established himself at Juventus.

A route shaped by early choices

Born in Germany to Bosnian parents, Alajbegovic chose to represent Bosnia and Herzegovina after speaking openly with his family. It was a decision rooted in personal attachment, made at an unusually young age for a player born in 2007.

His club journey also required a significant change. After eight years in Cologne’s academy, he accepted Bayer Leverkusen’s offer in search of a more demanding Under-19 championship. The move brought striking numbers: 14 goals and 13 assists in 29 appearances.

Salzburg followed as the next stage of a rise that had quickly attracted attention. Juventus sporting director Massara identified Alajbegovic as his first major choice after taking charge of the club’s sporting area, and the Bianconeri committed €30 million, with a further €5 million available in bonuses, as well as roughly €2 million in commissions.

Miralem Pjanic acted as intermediary in the operation. The former Juventus midfielder also had influence in helping the player consider Turin as the appropriate step towards the very highest level. Alajbegovic has long held the ambition of one day playing for Real Madrid, and Juventus offered him a route into a demanding European setting.

From promise to responsibility

Alajbegovic arrived with a reputation for improving both himself and the players around him. That quality particularly impressed Juventus during the discussions over his signing. His growing contribution now gives the club reason to believe that the investment can become part of a wider rebuilding project.

The season is still at an early stage of his Juventus story, but the signs are increasingly clear: Alajbegovic has chosen a disciplined path, has found a coach prepared to accelerate his education, and is beginning to make an impact when the ball reaches the decisive areas. For the new Juventus, he is emerging as a young reference point rather than simply another prospect.
