Seattle Kraken defenseman Ville Ottavainen has been fined $2,190.72 after being ruled the aggressor in a fight with Calgary Flames forward Brennan Othmann during Thursday’s preseason game in Seattle.
- Ottavainen received the maximum fine permitted under the NHL Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- The altercation took place at 7:22 of the second period of NHL preseason game No. 38 on Sept. 24.
- Ottavainen was assessed an instigator minor, a fighting major and a game misconduct under Rule 46.2 for aggressor status.
- The fine will be directed to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
