Lamar Jackson will remain sidelined Sunday, with the Baltimore Ravens ruling their starting quarterback out for an AFC North matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Jackson practiced on a limited basis during the week and carried a questionable designation into the weekend, but his ankle injury will keep him out for a third consecutive game. Tyler Huntley will make his third straight start in Jackson’s place.
Quick facts
- Jackson is out with an ankle injury for Baltimore’s Week 7 home game against Cincinnati.
- Huntley enters with a 6-7 career record as a Ravens starter.
- Baltimore is 7-12 without Jackson since he became the starting quarterback in 2018.
- The Ravens, Browns and Steelers are all 4-2 atop the AFC North; Cincinnati is 3-2 after its bye week.
- Kickoff at Baltimore is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET Sunday.
Huntley has appeared in three games this season, completing 70.8 percent of his throws for 429 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. He led Baltimore to an overtime comeback against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 5 before the Ravens lost on the road to the Cleveland Browns last week.
The Ravens are 1-1 this season without Jackson. His latest absence extends a troubling recent pattern, as he will miss at least three games for the second year in a row after appearing to have a possible path back earlier this month.
With the division race compressed heading into Sunday, Baltimore will again rely on Huntley against a Bengals team returning from its bye. Jackson’s next opportunity to return will come after Week 7.
