Lazio returned to work at Formello with a longer medical list than they would have wanted, as the next phase of the Serie A season comes into view. Albert Gudmundsson is the principal concern after returning from Iceland duty with a right shoulder injury.
Tests identified a dislocation of the right glenohumeral joint, which had already gone back into place on its own. The forward will undergo further examinations on the following day, while the club begin his recovery programme and assess his condition each day.
Quick facts
- Albert Gudmundsson has suffered a spontaneously reduced dislocation in his right shoulder joint.
- Danilo Cataldi is being monitored after an issue involving his quadriceps.
- Adrian Przyborek has been sidelined by muscular fatigue.
- Fisayo Dele-Bashiru completed the latest training session with the squad.
- Adam Marusic and Nicolò Rovella remain on rehabilitation programmes, while Matteo Cancellieri trained separately.
Gudmundsson’s situation is the most significant of three fresh concerns at Formello. His availability for the forthcoming fixtures will depend on the outcome of the additional checks and the response to treatment in the days ahead.
Cataldi also faces an uncertain wait after reporting discomfort in the quadriceps. Lazio’s medical staff will follow the midfielder’s progress day by day rather than placing a timescale on his return.
Przyborek is the third player currently unable to train normally, with muscular fatigue forcing him to pause. It adds another selection issue at a point when the coaching staff need their group to settle after the international break.
There was, however, a positive development in the session. Dele-Bashiru rejoined full team training, giving Lazio one player back in the collective work as others continue their individual routes towards fitness.
Marusic and Rovella are still carrying out reconditioning work under their respective recovery plans. Cancellieri, meanwhile, followed a personalised training schedule as Lazio manage a crowded treatment room before their next league commitments.
