Lorran Shows Flair With Nutmeg and Double Chip in Sharjah Training

In Sharjah, where Lorran is beginning a new chapter after leaving Flamengo, the 20-year-old Brazilian has caught attention again with a piece of training-ground skill. The forward posted footage of a spectacular finish from Tuesday’s session, using emojis to describe the move: a nutmeg, two chips and a goal, followed by the hand gesture associated with his usual Rugal celebration from the video game The King of Fighters.

The news from the club

Lorran is now with Al-Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates and has made two competitive appearances for the club, scoring once. His first goal in the country came against Al-Dhafra.

Flamengo retain 30% of the player’s economic rights after his move. The Rio de Janeiro club had once viewed Lorran as their most promising academy graduate since Vinicius Junior, but he was unable to establish himself consistently in the senior side and saw his market value fall over the past two years.

A proposed transfer to CSKA Moscow in January 2025 had been set at €8 million for 80% of his rights, equivalent to R$50.3 million at the time. Lorran travelled to the airport but was not cleared to leave because of contractual issues. His eventual deal was completed for €1.3 million, then worth R$7.7 million, for 70% of his rights.

From Rio record to the Emirates

Across his Flamengo first-team career, Lorran played 43 matches, scored five goals and supplied four assists. He wrote himself into the club’s records in the 2023 Campeonato Carioca, scoring in a 1-1 draw with Bangu at the age of 16 years, six months and 20 days.

That strike made him Flamengo’s youngest scorer at senior level. His latest training clip in Sharjah does not alter the official record, but it offers a glimpse of the confidence and improvisation that first made him one of Rio’s most closely watched young players.
