Toronto has added a scoring winger to its roster, acquiring Kirill Marchenko from the Columbus Blue Jackets and immediately locking him into a long-term contract.
Maple Leafs land Marchenko
The Maple Leafs completed a trade with Columbus for Marchenko, the 26-year-old forward who now joins Toronto’s forward group. Terms of the return going to the Blue Jackets were not disclosed.
Six-year extension follows trade
Toronto also reached agreement with Marchenko on a six-year extension, ensuring the club’s newest acquisition will not be a short-term addition.
