Marseille’s Sunday afternoon plans remain intact. Olympique de Marseille will host Le Havre at 17:15 in Ligue 1’s eighth round, despite discussions over whether the fixture could be promoted into the prime-time slot if Paris Saint-Germain’s meeting with Lyon is postponed.
OM-Le Havre stays at 17:15
- PSG are due to face Lyon at the Parc des Princes on Sunday at 20:45, in the scheduled final match of the Ligue 1 weekend.
- The fixture could be called off because police resources in Paris are expected to be heavily committed to a second weekend of demonstrations over the cost of living.
- With the Sunday-night broadcast slot potentially at risk, Ligue 1+ considered moving Marseille’s home game against Le Havre from 17:15 to 20:45.
- Both Marseille and Le Havre were approached about the possibility of changing the kick-off time.
- No alteration has been made: OM-Le Havre will go ahead at its original Sunday 17:15 slot.
Authorities hold the key over PSG-Lyon
A switch of fixture for policing reasons requires agreement from both clubs and must also be examined by the relevant authorities. The league has been asked by the Paris police prefecture to consider postponing PSG-Lyon.
The LFP has said it was not planning to move the match, stressing that it is scheduled for Sunday rather than Saturday. However, the league has also made clear that it will comply with any final decision taken by the authorities.
If PSG-Lyon is postponed, the question will be whether another Ligue 1 fixture can be moved to fill the vacant 20:45 television window.
