Mbappé Hits 100 Real Madrid Goals with El Clásico Double

In Catalonia, Barcelona had arrived at El Clásico with the chance to put real daylight between themselves and Madrid: victory would have taken them nine points clear of Real Madrid and five ahead of Atlético Madrid. Instead, Kylian Mbappé altered the shape of the LaLiga race once again, scoring twice in Real’s 2-1 win in the 10th round.

The news from the club

Mbappé’s two goals at Barcelona carried him to 100 official goals for Real Madrid, a landmark reached within two years of joining the Spanish club. The French forward has become a decisive figure in the fixtures that define Madrid’s domestic season, and this win brought Real closer to the leading positions after Barcelona had threatened to create a substantial gap.

His Madrid career began on 14 August 2024 in the UEFA Super Cup against Atalanta. He scored the second goal in a 2-0 victory, collecting his first trophy with the club that evening.

The latest Clásico also strengthened an exceptional personal record against Barcelona. Mbappé now has eight goals in seven matches against Barça for Real Madrid, failing to score in only two of those meetings. His average in the rivalry while wearing white stands at 1.14 goals per game.

Barcelona had already felt his impact during his Paris Saint-Germain years. In four appearances against the Catalan side for PSG, he scored six times. Across his spells at PSG and Real Madrid, he has 14 goals against Barcelona at an average of 1.27 per match.

Only Montpellier have conceded more often to Mbappé. The French club have allowed 15 goals to him in 15 games, leaving Barcelona as the second-most frequent victim of his senior career.

Named player of the match after the win, Mbappé credited the collective work of the Madrid squad rather than treating the occasion as an individual triumph.

For all the speed of his scoring return, his silverware record in Madrid remains limited to two titles: the Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup. The trip to Barcelona, however, offered another reminder of his importance to a club whose biggest ambitions remain tied to major trophies, particularly the Champions League.
