Miami will become the next meeting point for women’s club football across the continents when FIFA’s Champions Cup returns in January, with the Nu Stadium selected to stage the tournament’s closing weekend.

The new Inter Miami home will host both semi-finals, the final and the third-place match in the second edition of the six-team competition for continental champions.
Opened in April this year, Nu Stadium adds another international event to Miami’s recent football calendar. The city staged eight matches during the men’s Club World Cup in 2025 and is also due to host seven games at the 2026 World Cup.
Arsenal arrive as the reigning Champions Cup holders. The English side won the inaugural edition in London in February 2026, beating Brazil’s Corinthians 3-2 in a final that provided the competition’s first champion.
Jill Ellis, FIFA’s director of football, said the tournament was established so leading clubs could meet on the global stage every year. She described the London debut as an outstanding first edition and said Miami would now welcome elite teams from around the world, with the next winners to earn the trophy.
The road to Miami
The competition begins before the finalists reach Florida. North Korea’s Naegohyang Women’s, Asia’s champions, will play Auckland United of New Zealand, who represent Oceania, in the opening round.
The winner will then face the African representatives in the second stage. Those two earlier rounds are scheduled for October and December respectively.
The surviving team from that route will progress to a Miami semi-final against Club América of Mexico, champions of North America, Central America and the Caribbean.
Barcelona, Europe’s title holders, are already placed in the other semi-final. Their opponent will come from South America, where the continental berth remains undecided ahead of the Copa Libertadores, running from 15 to 31 October.
