Munich’s contract calendar has become as important as Bayern’s fixture list. Michael Olise has carried his club form into Zinedine Zidane’s new France side, and the 24-year-old winger now faces a decision that could shape the next transfer window across Europe.
Olise has supplied four goals and two assists in France’s opening four matches of the 2026-27 Nations League, the first four games since Zidane succeeded Didier Deschamps in August. Les Bleus have begun that spell with three wins and one draw: a 1-0 victory in Turkey, 1-0 and 4-1 wins over Belgium, and a 1-1 draw with Italy.
Bayern prepare improved terms
Bayern are ready to offer Olise a new deal running until 2032, with a major rise from his current annual salary of €14 million to €25 million. That package would put him level with Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala as the highest-paid players in Vincent Kompany’s squad.
The London-born France international, however, wants a release clause included in any extension. His existing Bayern contract runs to 2029, and the German champions resisted efforts to prise him away last summer, when Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez identified him as a leading target for the right side of the attack.
Bayern have now set a long-term deadline rather than demanding an immediate answer. Olise has until the summer to decide whether to accept the proposed terms. If no agreement is reached by then, the club will begin considering a sale rather than allowing uncertainty around one of their key attacking players to continue.
From Selhurst Park to Munich’s centre stage
Olise joined Bayern from Crystal Palace in 2024 for €53 million and has rapidly become one of the most productive wide players in the continental game. He has already registered eight goals and four assists in all competitions this season.
His previous campaign, 2025-26, brought an even more striking return: 22 goals and 31 assists at club level. Those numbers, followed by his immediate influence for Zidane’s France, have only intensified interest around a player Bayern hope to retain on their own terms.
For now, the next move rests with Olise. Bayern are offering elite wages and a long stay in Bavaria; the winger is seeking the contractual route that would preserve a future choice beyond Munich.
