In the shifting rhythm of an England-Spain contest full of early blows and changing control, Spain found the decisive touch through Mikel Oyarzabal. The Real Sociedad forward finished a move started by Álex Baena to put La Roja back in front after England had overturned Lamine Yamal’s opening goal before half-time.

Spain struck first through Yamal, but England responded sharply. Anthony Gordon and Harry Kane scored within four minutes before the interval to turn the match around and send England into the break ahead.
Luis de la Fuente’s substitutions helped Spain regain their footing after that difficult spell. Baena levelled the score at 2-2, then became the provider for the winning Spanish goal. His pass into space released Oyarzabal, who lifted his finish over the advancing James Trafford.
