Moise Kean Nears Como Return for Sunday’s Roma Clash

Como are increasingly hopeful that Moise Kean will be available for Sunday’s league meeting with Roma, after the Italy forward returned early from international duty with muscular fatigue.

Kean did not take part in Italy’s final fixture against Turkey after the medical staff judged him unfit to be used. The issue is not thought to be serious, but it came after a demanding spell with the national side: he had already absorbed several knocks against Belgium and finished the subsequent match with France in worse condition.

For Como, the days before Roma will be about management rather than alarm. Kean is expected to be monitored closely as the club assess whether he can recover in time for the resumption of the championship. There is confidence around the squad that the forward may yet be ready for Sunday.

The careful approach recalls last season in Florence, when Kean regularly had to be handled through a persistent tibia complaint that followed him for much of the campaign. This time, however, there is no indication of a major injury, only the need to avoid forcing the situation after his international exertions.

Como are also expecting Nico Paz back at Mozzate on Wednesday following his Argentina commitments. With the international break nearing its end, the focus now turns to Roma and to whether Kean can take his place in a fixture that will test Como’s returning players immediately.
