Monaco’s attention has turned inward after a turbulent summer, with Vanderson now among the first-team players the club want to tie down for longer. The Brazilian right-back, recovering his rhythm after a bruising previous campaign, has entered renewal talks despite already being under contract until June 2028.
Monaco open talks with Vanderson
Having completed a busy transfer window, Monaco are now concentrating on contract situations within the squad. Discussions have begun with Vanderson’s representatives over a possible extension to his existing deal.

- Only Alexandre Golovine, who arrived in 2018, has been at the club longer among the current Monaco squad.
The Principality club have also started work on other renewals. Paris Brunner and Mamadou Coulibaly are both part of those discussions, with Monaco choosing to revisit Coulibaly’s situation after the summer window closed.
A renewed role after a difficult season
The prospect of a new agreement comes after a challenging year for Vanderson, both personally and collectively. His season ended with an injury that ruled him out of the 2026 World Cup, following a period in which he had wanted to leave Monaco during the summer of 2025.
There are, however, early signs of a turnaround. Vanderson has regained form at the beginning of the new season and has been preferred to Jordan Teze in the starting line-up by fellow Brazilian Filipe Luis.
He has also carried that momentum onto the international stage, scoring his first goal for Brazil in the 4-1 win over Australia. Monaco will now seek to discover whether that revival can persuade the 24-year-old to commit beyond the contract he already holds.
Contract work continues at the club
Monaco have already secured the futures of four newly professional players, completing deals for Benzahra, Haddani, Gomes and Ajroud. With those signatures finalised, the focus has shifted towards experienced members of the senior group.
