Hamburger SV left it late at the Volksparkstadion, beating Stuttgart 1-0 in Bundesliga Matchday 6 on Saturday. Miro Muheim struck in the 88th minute, finishing a Zakaria El Ouahdi counterattack from outside the area to settle a tense, chance-heavy afternoon.
Muheim decides it late
Stuttgart had carried much of the second-half threat but could not make their pressure count. Hamburg then broke in the 88th minute, with El Ouahdi supplying Muheim for a left-footed finish into the right side of the goal.
Stuttgart pushed through three minutes of added time. Finn Jeltsch missed from the centre of the box after a corner, Josha Vagnoman fired over, and Chris Führich had a late long-range effort held by Daniel Heuer Fernandes.

Open second half, no early finish
Hamburg had their own chances after the interval. Yussuf Poulsen hit the crossbar in the 53rd minute from Fábio Vieira’s pass, shortly after Ermedin Demirovic had headed wide for Stuttgart. Poulsen had also headed narrowly past the post soon after the restart.
Nicolás Capaldo tested Dennis Seimen with a header in the 61st minute, then dragged another effort just wide after Martin Adeline’s assist. Bilal Nadir sent a long-range attempt over before leaving injured.

Stuttgart pressure before the break
Stuttgart created the earlier openings. Angelo Stiller bent an early shot just wide, while Josha Vagnoman, Deniz Undav, Finn Jeltsch and Demirovic all tested Hamburg’s defending or goalkeeper in the first half.
Jeltsch’s 11th-minute header was saved low by Heuer Fernandes after a Bilal El Khannouss cross. Demirovic headed off target from two further El Khannouss deliveries, and missed narrowly after Karazor’s through ball in the 27th minute. Undav also had a shot blocked from Jamie Leweling’s pass.
Hamburg’s first-half threat came mainly from set pieces. Seimen saved Vieira from close range in the 26th minute after Sebastiaan Bornauw’s involvement in a crowded box. Bornauw and Poulsen then missed headers from Muheim corners. Louis Lemke briefly required treatment after an early injury but continued before being substituted in the second half.
