Napoli Hand Allegri’s Squad Three Days Off Before Nine-Game Stretch

Napoli’s brief pause has arrived at a rare moment when Massimiliano Allegri can afford to give his depleted squad time away from Castel Volturno. The coach has granted 72 hours off, stretching across three days, before a demanding sequence in which Napoli are due to play nine matches in less than a month.

A short break before the crowded run-in

The group available to Allegri has been notably small, with only around six players fit enough to take part in the break. The larger concern remains the injured contingent, whose possible returns will shape Napoli’s options once the fixtures begin to arrive in rapid succession.

  • Napoli’s players have been given three days away from training.
  • The rest period comes before a run of nine games in under a month.
  • Only roughly half a dozen players were available, with injured players excluded.
  • The squad will still be operating under emergency conditions after the break.

Frosinone target for possible returns

The meeting with Frosinone is being viewed as an opportunity to restore at least part of the squad. Leonardo Spinazzola could be ready, providing a useful solution on the flank, particularly as Mathias Olivera is not expected back until close to the match.

Alex Meret has improved and will be assessed to determine whether he can return to the matchday squad. Scott McTominay has only recently reported to Castel Volturno and is currently following an individual programme rather than joining the main work.

Absences set to continue

There is less encouraging news for several other players. Napoli do not expect Frank Anguissa, Alisson Santos, Giovane or Alessandro Buongiorno to be available for the Frosinone fixture, leaving Allegri to begin the next chapter of the season with limited resources.

  • Leonardo Spinazzola could return against Frosinone.
  • Mathias Olivera is expected to arrive back close to the game.
  • Alex Meret’s inclusion will depend on a final fitness check.
  • Scott McTominay is working to a personalised schedule.
  • Frank Anguissa, Alisson Santos, Giovane and Alessandro Buongiorno remain unavailable.
