Napoli will travel to Venice on Saturday 17 October with a 22-man squad for their 15:00 meeting with Venezia at the Pier Luigi Penzo, a fixture that arrives with several important returns but a fresh concern in attack.
Max Allegri has recovered Frank Anguissa, Alisson Santos and Mathías Olivera, as he had indicated in his pre-match press conference. Their availability gives Napoli additional options across midfield and on the left side ahead of an afternoon in a stadium where concentration and continuity will matter as much as selection.
David Neres, however, is unavailable after suffering a low-grade injury to the semimembranosus muscle in his right thigh. He joins Alessandro Buongiorno, Favasuli and Vergara among the players absent for the trip to the lagoon.
The goalkeepers selected are Nikita Contini, Alex Meret and Vanja Milinkovic-Savic. Napoli’s defensive group includes Badiashile, Sam Beukema, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Luca Marianucci, Rafa Marín, Amir Rrahmani, Leonardo Spinazzola and Olivera.
Anguissa returns alongside Kevin De Bruyne, Billy Gilmour, Stanislav Lobotka, Scott McTominay, Alisson Santos and Matteo Politano in midfield. The forwards in the travelling party are Giovane, Rasmus Hojlund, Noa Lang and Lorenzo Lucca, with Napoli seeking to carry their season forward despite Neres’ latest setback.
