Napoli and Roma will carry more than the usual weight of a major Serie A evening at the Stadio Maradona, with DAZN selecting the eighth-round meeting as its first free-to-watch league broadcast of the 2026-27 season.
A classic fixture opens the free-streaming programme
The match is scheduled for Saturday at 18:00 and will be available live on DAZN without a subscription, provided viewers register for an account. It is the first of five Serie A fixtures, from the 380 played across the campaign, that the platform will make available free of charge in exclusive live streaming.
The initiative comes two years after DAZN first showed a Serie A match free online. Napoli-Roma offers an established Italian football occasion for the return of the scheme, with the Maradona set to host two sides entering an important stage of the season.

DAZN and Serie A seek a wider audience
Andrea Faelli, chief executive of DAZN Italia, said the first free Serie A broadcast of 2026-27 underlined the company’s intention to bring a leading Italian football event to as many supporters as possible.
He described free live streaming as a means of bringing audiences closer to the competition, particularly younger viewers. Faelli added that the plan reflected DAZN’s role as Serie A’s principal broadcaster and the group’s wider strategy of offering high-profile events free online around the world, while developing more dynamic and participatory ways of watching sport.
Serie A chief executive Luigi De Siervo said the league’s objective remained the growth of its match audiences. He welcomed the chance for supporters to watch Napoli-Roma through DAZN’s Try & Buy offer after completing a simple registration on the OTT platform.
De Siervo said the arrangement would help place added value on one of the championship’s major fixtures and strengthen the connection with supporters.
How non-subscribers can watch
Viewers without a DAZN subscription can register through the platform’s website on desktop or mobile devices. The free live allocation for Serie A matches will be capped at approximately two million non-subscribing accounts.
