Turin may soon offer Neto a familiar address. The Brazilian goalkeeper, who left Botafogo after terminating his contract in June, is close to returning to Juventus on a free transfer, with only final contractual points still to be settled.
The move would bring the 37-year-old back to a club he represented from 2015 to 2017, and to a country where he also spent four seasons with Fiorentina. That Italian background, along with his experience, has made him an attractive option for Juventus as they seek depth in goal.
A vacancy behind Vicário
Juventus began looking for a goalkeeper to provide cover for Vicário after Grabara sustained a serious knee injury. Neto is unattached, understands the demands of Serie A and would arrive without a transfer fee, making the proposed deal a practical solution for the Turin club.
His most recent chapter was in Rio de Janeiro. Neto joined Botafogo in 2025 as the intended replacement for John, but he did not establish himself as the unquestioned first choice and his spell was marked by a number of costly mistakes. A return across the Atlantic now appears close, with Juventus set to give the former Brazil international another route into Italian football.
