NFL injury report: Pacheco, Garrett and Murray among key Monday updates

Quick facts

  • Isiah Pacheco is expected to miss about 12 weeks following back surgery.
  • Myles Garrett underwent knee surgery Monday with no return timetable set.
  • Kyler Murray entered concussion protocol after leaving the Packers game in the first quarter.
  • Deshaun Watson remains in line to start Cleveland’s Week 2 game against Tampa Bay.
  • Dallas safety Malik Hooker will have surgery on his fractured forearm Tuesday.

Pacheco recently had a procedure for a pinched nerve in his back and is projected to be sidelined for roughly three months. A return in early December remains possible, though Detroit coach Dan Campbell said the running back will be out for an extended stretch.

Pacheco had already been placed on injured reserve because of a knee issue. The Lions also listed tackle Blake Miller, who has a knee injury, and guard Christian Mahogany, who is dealing with a hip problem, as nonparticipants in Monday’s walkthrough. Center Juice Scruggs was limited by a knee injury.

Garrett’s knee surgery leaves his availability uncertain entering Week 2. Rams coach Sean McVay did not provide a projection for the edge rusher’s return.

Los Angeles is also still deciding whether Aaron Donald will be available for Week 2 after he did not play in the Rams’ opener.

Murray is being monitored in the concussion protocol after taking a hard hit during the first quarter of Sunday’s victory over Green Bay. Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell said the quarterback felt relatively good when he arrived at the facility, but the club will evaluate him day by day.

Minnesota also is examining running back Jordan Mason’s sore thumb. The Vikings released running back Jermar Jefferson.

Cleveland will keep Watson atop its quarterback depth chart for the Week 2 matchup with the Buccaneers despite the season-opening defeat to Jacksonville. Watson completed 16 of 22 passes for 205 yards, with one touchdown and one interception, and coach Todd Monken said both the offensive approach and the quarterback’s execution must improve.

The Browns also have guard Chris Lindstrom in concussion protocol. Defensive lineman Da’Shawn Hand suffered a torn quadriceps in the loss to Pittsburgh and will undergo season-ending surgery. Cleveland released wide receiver Jamari Thrash and linebacker Malik Verdon.

Baltimore received encouraging early news on Zay Flowers after the wide receiver injured his hamstring against Indianapolis. Flowers is scheduled for an MRI, but the injury is not believed to be serious and he is considered day to day.

Flowers caught five passes for 150 yards and a touchdown before departing in the first half of Sunday’s win. The Ravens are also awaiting further clarity on wideout Ja’Kobi Lane’s wrist after reports indicated he fractured it and could miss several weeks.

Cornerback T.J. Tampa could be unavailable for a period because of a knee injury, though Baltimore is still gathering information. The Ravens added defensive back Lardarius Webb to the practice squad and released practice-squad linebacker Dominic DeLuca.

Dallas expects linebacker DeMarvion Overshown to miss one or two weeks with a hamstring injury. Hooker, who registered one tackle across 12 defensive snaps against the Giants, is not expected to have a lengthy absence after his forearm procedure.

The Cowboys released wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey. Elsewhere, running back Adam Prentice and long snapper Mitchell Fraboni were elevated for game-day duty.

Buffalo listed running back Ty Johnson, defensive lineman T.J. Sanders and linebacker Terrel Bernard as limited Monday. All three are managing injuries: Johnson’s hamstring, Sanders’ knee and Bernard’s calf.

The Bills signed fullback Brock Lampe to their practice squad and released practice-squad guard Nick Broeker. Linebacker Tyrel Dodson was signed to an active roster.

Carolina wide receiver Jalen Coker wore a walking boot on his left foot after rolling his ankle in the loss to Chicago. Coker said he does not anticipate missing action.

Houston linebacker Henry To’oTo’o will be sidelined for an undetermined period by a shoulder injury. The Texans have not yet decided whether to place him on injured reserve, and they released cornerback Johnathan Edwards.

Jacksonville expects wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. to be available against Denver in Week 2, although his shoulder injury will limit him during practice. Defensive end BJ Green II, dealing with an elbow problem, is not expected to play in that game.

Linebacker Cooper McDonald and cornerback Mansoor Delane were both ruled out for Monday’s game against Denver. Delane, the sixth overall selection in the 2026 draft, intercepted a pass on the third snap of the contest before leaving with a shoulder injury.

Las Vegas tight end Brock Bowers is considered day to day after a meniscus trim. Chargers receiver Ladd McConkey is also day to day after hurting his ribs against Arizona, while fellow wideout KeAndre Lambert-Smith is expected to miss time because of a hamstring injury.

Philadelphia guard Landon Dickerson, a three-time Pro Bowler, is headed to injured reserve with a knee injury and will be out for at least four games. The Eagles added guard Evan Beerntsen to the practice squad and elevated fullback Ben VanSumeren and defensive tackle Marcus Harris for game day.

New England expects running back TreVeyon Henderson and center Ben Brown to practice Monday. Henderson is recovering from an ankle injury, while Brown is working back from a knee issue.

The Patriots signed wide receiver Chandler Brayboy and linebacker Xavier Holmes to the practice squad. Running back Hassan Haskins and safety Elliott Davison were released from the unit.

Sam Darnold is dealing with an uncommon soft-tissue injury involving his glute area, though the injury does not affect his hip joint. The club does not view it as a long-term issue, but has not established a date for his return.

Tampa Bay cornerback Jacob Parrish has a back sprain after exiting Sunday’s loss to Cincinnati. His MRI and X-rays produced no structural concerns.

Linebacker Cedric Gray has cleared concussion protocol and is expected to be ready for Week 2. Guard Garrett Dellinger was released, while defensive end Dorance Armstrong received roster-suspension status after the league lifted his previous suspension.

Among additional personnel moves, wide receiver Bo Melton was promoted from the practice squad to an active roster. Long snapper Scott Daly was released from a practice squad, while defensive end Jonah Williams and running back Phil Mafah joined practice squads. Wide receiver Dalen Cambre was also released.
