The match
Badosa had been one point away from completing the victory when rain stopped play at 6-1, 5-4, 40-all. The former World No. 2 then faced an uncomfortable overnight wait, with sleep hard to find before the match could resume.
When play returned, Badosa needed repeated chances to close out Kasatkina, but eventually converted her ninth match point to secure her place in the second round.
