Serie A’s sixth weekend will begin in Genoa on Saturday 10 October, when Fiorentina visit Genoa at 15:00, and it will run through Monday’s two closing fixtures: Atalanta against Venezia at 18:30, followed by Torino versus Udinese at 20:45. Between those bookends, several defenders arrive with early-season form that has made them more than supporting figures in their clubs’ plans.
Gleison Bremer has re-established himself at the centre of Juventus’ side. The Brazilian scored against Atalanta for his second league goal of the campaign, adding to an increasingly influential start after putting recent physical troubles behind him. Apart from Juventus’ difficult afternoon against Sassuolo, his individual performances have remained at a solid level, while his attacking contribution has lifted his fantasy average to 7.3 from a match-rating average of 6.1.
Bremer’s set-piece threat is hardly new. During 2024-25 he returned four goals and three assists, and he has again found the net against Frosinone and Atalanta this season. Luciano Spalletti is expected to start him against Cagliari, a side that has begun well but faces a Juventus team regarded as the stronger side on paper. His fantasy valuation stands at 39 credits.
Defenders making an impact beyond their own penalty area
At Inter, Yann Bisseck has become a frequent choice for Cristian Chivu, starting three of the opening five matches and scoring in the first-round meeting with Monza. The German defender’s progress has been visible in his defensive work, but also in the forward runs that have given Inter another outlet when building attacks.
His numbers reflect that consistency: Bisseck has recorded a 7.3 fantasy average and a 6.5 average rating, a useful combination for managers seeking both reliability and the possibility of a decisive contribution. With Stones unavailable, Bisseck is expected to begin Inter’s next match against Parma, where the Nerazzurri will start as favourites. He is priced at 32 credits.
Ricardo Mangas has provided a different kind of value at Monza. The Portuguese full-back, signed during the summer window, has already produced one goal and two assists in the league. Ivan Juric has benefited from his steady work along the left, where Mangas has offered width and repeatedly found ways to influence moves in the final third.
Monza have scored in every league match so far, a sign that their attacking resources can still offer possibilities even in a demanding visit to Lazio. Mangas is expected to retain his place on the left side, although Lazio enter the fixture as favourites. With a 7.1 fantasy average, a 6.1 match-rating average and a cost of 19 credits, he has been one of Monza’s more productive early-season players.
