The ownership map around Paris Saint-Germain has widened again, with Qatar Sports Investments completing its takeover of Belgian second-tier side KAS Eupen after months of running the club’s sporting operations.
QSI completes KAS Eupen takeover
Qatar Sports Investments, the PSG owner chaired by Nasser Al-Khelaifi, confirmed on Thursday that it has become the sole owner of Eupen.
The group said the transaction had been completed after the two sides worked together to put in place a platform for the club’s long-term sporting and economic development.
From Aspire project to direct ownership
- Qatar first became involved with Eupen in 2012 through the Aspire Academy, using the Belgian club in part as a route for young players to develop.
- Eupen spent eight consecutive seasons in Belgium’s top division before relegation to the second tier in May 2024.
- QSI took charge of the club’s sporting management in December 2025, several months before the ownership deal was formally finalised.
- On Thursday, QSI announced that it had completed the acquisition and now holds full control of the club.
New structure at Eupen
Pasquale Sensibile, appointed by QSI as sporting director, is leading the football operation. Felice Mazzu is the club’s head coach.
The Eupen purchase adds another direct project to QSI’s football portfolio. The Qatari group has owned PSG since 2011 and has also held a minority stake in Portugal’s Sporting Braga since 2022.
