Burns finishes 2026 as one of the club’s few steady arms in a difficult year for the Cincinnati staff. Roster move brings Spiers back into the mix
Cincinnati filled Burns’ roster spot by selecting right-hander Carson Spiers from Triple-A Louisville. The club also designated veteran outfielder TJ Friedl for assignment.
For Burns, the final line stands as a strong foundation: 15 wins, three losses, a 2.86 ERA and 185 strikeouts over 154 1/3 innings. The groin strain ends his season, but not the impact he made on a Reds rotation that needed an anchor.
