Roma will resume their league campaign at Como on Sunday 11 October without Bryan Cristante after examinations revealed inflammation in the midfielder’s knee.
The issue is an unwelcome one for Gian Piero Gasperini as the club prepares to return from the international break. Cristante’s condition rules him out of the trip to Como, while his availability for Roma’s next European appointment is also in doubt.
Roma are due to host Real Madrid at the Olimpico on Wednesday 14 October in the Champions League, a fixture that will bring José Mourinho back to the capital. The Portuguese coach, formerly in charge of the Giallorossi, faces his old club with Cristante now racing against time to recover.
