Roma and Inter meet with more than points and prestige in the balance: their squads now carry a combined estimated value of €1.429 billion. The figure gives this fixture another measure of the work done by two clubs whose sporting paths have differed, yet whose recent investment and player development have brought their teams closer in asset value than their overall corporate scale might suggest.
The coach and the club
Inter’s squad is estimated at €829 million, compared with €600 million for Roma, a difference of 38%. The wider business gap is considerably greater, with Inter’s enterprise value reported to be around three times that of the Giallorossi. On the pitch, however, Roma’s recent rise has narrowed the distance.
Football Benchmark’s September update, produced after the end of the summer transfer window, places the combined value of the two groups at €1.429 billion. Its estimates are based on a linear regression model that considers factors including contract length, position, age, nationality, individual and international performances, disciplinary record, and commercial and media potential.
The assessment covers players who have accumulated at least 450 minutes over the preceding 365 days, and the valuations are updated four or five times during a season.
Roma’s sharp upward turn
Roma’s journey has not been a straight line. Their squad was valued at €467 million in 2022 before slipping to €372 million in 2024. The recovery was already visible at €434 million in 2025, but the latest €600 million figure represents a particularly significant leap.
Two forces sit behind that movement: Gian Piero Gasperini’s work in returning Roma to the Champions League while improving the value of his players, and the Friedkin ownership’s spending in the market.
Three established members of the squad are among Roma’s five most valuable players: Manu Koné is rated at €64 million, Donyell Malen at €58 million and Wesley at €52 million. New arrivals Rodrigo Mora and Castro follow at €51 million and €44 million respectively.
There is also a notable place for academy product Niccolò Pisilli. At 21, he is valued at €40 million, underlining the contribution of Roma’s own development system to the present cycle.
Paulo Dybala’s €7 million valuation reflects a different stage of a career rather than his standing within the side. The Argentine is 32, had been approaching the end of his contract and agreed only a one-season renewal.
Inter’s steadier climb
Inter’s growth has been more gradual, reflecting greater continuity in results. The Nerazzurri squad was assessed at €610 million in 2022. It had gained roughly €200 million by 2024, and has risen from €698 million to €829 million during Cristian Chivu’s most recent year in charge.
The increase is tied to players who have reached the highest level with the club. Lautaro Martinez leads Inter’s valuations at €88 million, followed by Alessandro Bastoni at €66 million, Pio Esposito at €65 million, Nicolò Barella at €59 million and Federico Dimarco at €51 million.
Esposito’s case is especially striking. His breakthrough in the 2025-26 campaign has taken the 21-year-old to a €65 million valuation.
Behind the squad numbers sits Inter’s longer-term ownership plan. Oaktree has tasked president Beppe Marotta with building a playing group worth at least €1 billion, as part of a strategy intended to increase the club’s value over time. Investment under the American fund has marked a break from the previous Chinese ownership period, and the current €829 million estimate indicates how far that project has already progressed.
For Roma, the figure tells the story of an accelerated rebuilding phase under Gasperini and the Friedkins. For Inter, it is evidence of a more mature cycle still being pushed towards a larger target. Their meeting therefore brings together two teams with different financial histories, but increasingly substantial sporting capital.
