Wrexham co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac have turned to Premier League history for their latest joke, producing a spoof based on the ‘Spygate’ affair ahead of the club’s meeting with Southampton.
The two actors, who jointly own Wrexham, used the parody to take a playful swipe at the Saints before the fixture.
The reference recalls one of the Premier League’s more memorable off-field rows, with Reynolds and Mac placing Southampton at the centre of their pre-match gag.
For Wrexham, it is another example of their Hollywood ownership bringing a lighter touch to the build-up, though Southampton will have little interest in the comedy once the football begins.
