Sassuolo vs Milan: Berardi Starts as Amorim Backs Estupinan

Sunday evening at the Mapei Stadium brings Sassuolo and Milan together with both sides looking to give their recent work greater weight. Sassuolo arrive after defeat to Monza, while Milan coach Ruben Amorim is seeking a second successive victory following the win over Lecce.

Alberto Aquilani has placed Arijanet Muric in goal for the home side. The back four consists of Ignace Van der Brempt, Duje Caleta-Car, Ameen Al-Dakhil Leysen and Josh Doig, with Vasilije Adzic, Nemanja Matic and Bakola selected through midfield.

Sassuolo’s attacking responsibility falls to the familiar balance of Domenico Berardi, Sebastiano Esposito and Armand Laurienté. It is a front line capable of changing the rhythm of a match, but Aquilani’s side will also be conscious of the need to recover their footing after the Monza setback.

Milan begin with Mike Maignan behind a defence made up of Mario Gila, Matteo Gabbia, Strahinja Pavlovic and Pervis Estupinan. Adrien Rabiot and Yunus Musah operate centrally, while Samuel Chukwueze and Moreira take the wide roles.

Christian Pulisic is stationed behind Gonçalo Ramos, who leads the Milan attack. Amorim’s selection keeps Pulisic close to the centre of the game, with Ramos asked to provide the focal point as Milan attempt to build on their result against Lecce.
