Serie A Matchday 6: Lazio Lead the Assist Charts as Round Continues

Serie A’s sixth round remains unfinished, with Atalanta hosting Venezia at 18:30 and Torino facing Udinese at 20:45 on Monday, but the weekend has already produced a varied list of decisive final passes. From Genoa’s comeback of attacking combinations to Lazio’s four assists against Monza, several players have given their teams the extra touch that turned pressure into points.

Key takeaways

  • Genoa beat Fiorentina 2-1, with Ellertsson and Osmajic each credited with an assist.
  • Noslin supplied two goals as Lazio won 3-1 against Monza, while Pedraza also registered a decisive pass.
  • Cambiaghi created both Bologna goals in their 2-1 victory at Lecce.
  • Mkhitaryan set up Thuram in Inter’s 3-0 win over Parma.
  • Giovane assisted De Bruyne’s second goal in Napoli’s 3-0 success over Frosinone.
  • Cagliari-Juventus ended 1-1, with Mendy and Alajbegovic providing the assists.

A weekend of decisive deliveries

Genoa’s 2-1 defeat of Fiorentina, under De Rossi, brought two entries to the round’s provisional assist list. Ellertsson’s key touch placed Osmajic in front of goal for the first, before Osmajic turned provider shortly afterwards, delivering from the right for Messias.

Inter’s 3-0 win over Parma included one credited assist. Mkhitaryan combined with Pio Esposito in midfield before releasing Thuram down the right. The French forward then entered the area and finished from an acute angle past Corvi.

Napoli also won 3-0, overcoming Frosinone with Giovane involved in De Bruyne’s second goal. Having only recently come on, the Brazilian sent the ball in from the left for the Belgian, who finished first time beyond Palmisani. Giovane therefore receives the assist.

There was no assist awarded in Como’s goalless meeting with Roma. Milan’s 1-1 draw at Sassuolo, meanwhile, had a single decisive pass: Modric found Rabiot on the left side of the penalty area for the shot that produced the goal.

At Lecce, Bologna’s 2-1 victory was shaped by Cambiaghi’s work from wide areas. His deliveries led first to Orsolini’s overhead-kick finish and later to Enem’s close-range goal that restored Bologna’s lead. Lecce’s scorer Fatah was supplied by Danilo Veiga, whose forward pass exposed uncertainty from Pessina.

Lazio lead the assist count, while Cagliari and Juventus share the points

Lazio’s 3-1 home win against Monza contained four assists in all. Noslin made two of them, first playing a short pass to Tavares, who struck from distance, and then finding Isaksen with a low through ball after Lazio regained possession high up the pitch.

Pedraza supplied Lazio’s third assist, delivering a low cross for Pinamonti. Monza’s goal was credited to Dany Mota: he glanced Birindelli’s corner on with a header, sending it towards Goglichidze, who finished from close range past Mandas.

The 1-1 draw between Cagliari and Juventus produced one assist for each side. Mendy completed a combination with Daniel Maldini to create the opening goal, while Alajbegovic’s cross found Kolo Muani for the equaliser.

The list remains provisional until the two Monday fixtures are completed. In the fantasy scoring system, an assist is worth one point, while a coach receives an additional 0.5 rating bonus when the decisive pass comes from a substitute introduced during the match.
