Serie A’s seventh round brings a familiar demand for the leading clubs: turn recent momentum into a steadier run. Napoli, Inter and Roma all approach their next fixtures with clean sheets on their minds, while Cagliari’s encouraging start has again placed Elia Caprile among the weekend’s more reliable goalkeepers.
Napoli seek another controlled afternoon
Napoli come into the Venezia match after beating Frosinone, a result that also gave Alex Meret his second clean-sheet bonus of the campaign. His first had arrived on the opening matchday, and the aim now is to build a defensive sequence rather than treat the Frosinone result as an isolated improvement.
Venezia are still without a point, leaving Napoli as clear favourites for the next round. Meret is valued at 15 credits in the Fantacampionato game and represents a relatively accessible option for a side seeking another shutout.
Inter and Roma have decisions between the posts
Josep Martinez restored order to Inter’s defence against Parma after conceding in three consecutive matches. The Italian champions now face Bologna, a team coached by Raffaele Palladino that has been improving, although Inter retain the stronger position on paper.
Martinez costs 24 credits. That valuation remains five credits below his price at the beginning of the season, though it has risen again following the Parma clean sheet. For Inter, the Bologna fixture is another test of whether that defensive reset can become more permanent.
Roma, meanwhile, have received an important answer from Pierluigi Gollini. Asked to fill in for Mile Svilar against Como, Gollini delivered an assured display, receiving a rating of 7.5 that rose to 8.5 with the clean-sheet bonus in Fantacampionato.
Gian Piero Gasperini’s side meet Genoa next, looking for a return to winning ways after two successive draws. At five credits, Gollini is an inexpensive choice while Svilar remains unavailable, and his performance against Como has strengthened his case to continue.
Caprile reflects Cagliari’s bright start
Cagliari have been one of the early surprises of the Serie A season, with Caprile playing a central role. The goalkeeper has conceded only three goals so far and has repeatedly made decisive interventions for Fabio Pisacane’s team.
Even in the latest match against Juventus, when Cagliari did concede, Caprile earned a rating of six after another strong performance. His next assignment comes against Monza, and his 24-credit valuation reflects the growing weight of his contribution to Cagliari’s opening weeks.
For clubs and coaches, the round offers different versions of the same objective: Napoli want to confirm authority against a struggling opponent, Inter want to build on a recovered clean sheet, Roma need stability during Svilar’s absence, and Cagliari hope Caprile can continue to underpin their unexpected rise.
