Shohei Ohtani will carry baseball’s best-selling jersey into October again, finishing atop Major League Baseball’s 2026 popularity list as the postseason field gets ready for the Wild Card Series beginning Tuesday, Sept. 29.
The Dodgers star has now led the Nike jersey sales rankings for four consecutive seasons, the first player to do that since the tracking began in 2010. His jersey has been the top seller in the United States, Japan and worldwide every year since 2023.
Aaron Judge of the Yankees finished second, while Cubs center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong climbed to third. All three clubs had already secured postseason spots entering the final weekend of the regular season.

A Cubs climb and a Japanese milestone
Crow-Armstrong’s rise to No. 3 followed a season in which he became the seventh player in Major League history to reach 40 home runs and 40 stolen bases. He is the first Cub to put together a 40-40 season.
It is Chicago’s highest jersey finish since Javier Báez also placed third in 2018. Crow-Armstrong has become one of the faces of a Cubs club headed for October, and the shirt sales reflect how quickly his season has landed with fans.
The Dodgers placed four players in the top nine: Ohtani, Freeman, Betts and Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Yamamoto, the reigning Willie Mays World Series Most Valuable Player, finished ninth.
Yamamoto’s spot alongside Ohtani and White Sox slugger Munetaka Murakami made 2026 the first year with three Japanese MLB players among the top 20 jersey sellers. Murakami entered the rankings at No. 20 in his first appearance on the list.
