Spain’s road into a new Nations League campaign began with a public gathering at the Ciudad del Fútbol, where more than 2,000 supporters watched the European and world champions train before their trip to London.
A Madrid send-off before Wembley
Families had waited 65 days from the opening of the registration process for the chance to attend Tuesday’s session at the national-team base. The open training offered a close view of the squad as it prepares to meet England at Wembley on Saturday.
Spain will fly to London on Friday, carrying the status of reigning European champions and World Cup holders into one of the most prominent opening fixtures of the 2026/27 Nations League.
Fitness management in the Spanish camp
Not every player took part in the main grass session as the staff managed several individual workloads.
- Defender Pubill made only a short appearance before working indoors because of blisters on his feet.
- Ferran Torres, Marc Cucurella, Mikel Oyarzabal, Fabián Ruiz, Yeremy Pino, Álex Baena and Alejandro Grimaldo followed separate training programmes.
The Nations League calendar ahead
The England match begins a compact early-autumn run for Spain, whose schedule then turns towards meetings with Croatia and the Czech Republic.
