Spain carry a 39-match unbeaten run into Tuesday’s Nations League meeting with Croatia, after both sides opened their campaigns with away victories.

There is no domestic French fixture involved, but the international window brings a significant second matchday clash as Spain host Croatia.
Spain began with a 3-2 win over England. Luis de la Fuente’s team trailed 2-1 at the interval before Álex Baena levelled in the 60th minute. Mikel Oyarzabal then struck the decisive goal 14 minutes later.
The result extended Spain’s unbeaten sequence to 39 matches, comprising 29 victories and 10 draws.
Croatia also started the competition with three points, defeating the Czech Republic 2-1 away from home. Captain Luka Modric put them ahead two minutes after the break, but the hosts restored parity in the 54th minute. Mario Pasalic delivered Croatia’s winner in the 77th minute.
That comeback in Czechia gives Croatia encouragement before a demanding visit to face Spain, who will seek to protect one of international football’s longest active unbeaten records.
