Tyreek Hill has been found liable on two battery claims in a Miami civil case brought by his estranged wife, Lakeeta Vaccaro, with the jury awarding her $500,000 in compensatory damages. The verdict comes as the veteran wide receiver continues his recovery from the severe knee injury he sustained with the Miami Dolphins in September 2025.
What changed for the franchise
A Miami jury returned its verdict Tuesday after hearing Vaccaro’s claims against Hill. The panel held Hill responsible for two battery incidents, one alleged to have occurred in January 2024 and the other in April 2025.
Vaccaro was awarded $500,000 in compensatory damages. The jury did not grant punitive damages.
Hill was cleared on the other eight claims in the case, which included additional allegations of battery, assault and continuing domestic violence.
After the verdict was read, Hill embraced one of his attorneys, shook hands with members of his legal team and exited the courtroom alone.
The immediate NFL implications remain uncertain. Hill, who previously played for the Kansas City Chiefs before joining Miami, is recovering from a dislocated knee and torn ligaments suffered in September 2025 while with the Dolphins. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has said Hill could be ready to return to the field by November.
