Madrid’s derby rivalry has spilled back onto social media, where Atlético Madrid responded with sarcasm to Fede Valverde’s return to the Real Madrid squad following his injury in the most recent meeting between the clubs.
The news from the club
Atlético published an ironic message aimed at their city rivals after the Uruguayan midfielder was called up again by Real Madrid. The post referred to Valverde’s recovery after he had been injured during the last Madrid derby.
The exchange adds another small chapter to a rivalry that rarely remains confined to the pitch. Atlético’s message focused on the speed of Valverde’s return, while Real Madrid included the midfielder in the group once more after his fitness concern.
