Chelsea Host Bournemouth as Xabi Alonso Eyes Premier League Reset

London returns to the club calendar on Saturday with Chelsea seeking a reset at Stamford Bridge after the two-week international break. Xabi Alonso’s side host Bournemouth in the sixth round of the 2026/27 Premier League, with kick-off set for 11:00 Brasília time.

Chelsea have slipped to 10th place after taking seven points from their opening five matches. They enter the afternoon without a league win in three, making Bournemouth’s visit an early test of whether the pause has arrived at the right moment.

Quick facts

  • Match: Chelsea v Bournemouth, Premier League, round six
  • Date: Saturday, 10 October
  • Venue: Stamford Bridge, London
  • Kick-off: 11:00 Brasília time
  • Brazil broadcast: Cazé TV
  • Chelsea: 10th with seven points from five games
  • Bournemouth: still searching for their first league victory

Bournemouth, coached by Marco Rose, travel south without a win in the campaign and with several absences to manage. Kroupi, Araujo, Justin Kluivert and Alex Scott are ruled out through injury.

For Chelsea, João Pedro is not expected to feature after a knee problem also kept him out of Brazil’s international fixtures. Cole Palmer remains uncertain after missing England duty.

There is better news around Moisés Caicedo and Reece James, who could return to contention. Emegha and Palestra are also expected to be available for the home side.

Alonso is set to weigh an XI featuring Emiliano Martínez in goal, with Wesley Fofana, Maxence Lacroix and Levi Colwill across the back. Neto, Roméo Lavia, Jordan Henderson and Chavarria are options in midfield, behind Palmer, Morgan Rogers and Danny Welbeck.

Bournemouth’s likely selection includes Đorđe Petrović; Adam Smith, Hill, Silva and Adrien Truffert; Tyler Adams and Lewis Cook; Rayan, Ryan Christie and Marcus Tavernier; with Evanilson leading the attack.
